About Derk Abberfield
Derk is a Rural Financial Counsellor based in Gympie. He supports primary producers in Gympie, Fraser Coast and Sunshine Coast areas.
Derk has been the Rural Financial Counsellor in Gympie since 2013, having transferred from a similar role in St George, where he commenced as a Financial Counsellor in 2006.
The Gympie position services north as far up as Bundaberg through to the Sunshine Coast in the south. Derk enjoys the variety, and learnings, associated with the wide range of primary producers in that area – from small crops, fruit and nuts through to cattle and dairy producers.
Derk obtained his education from University of Sydney, Orange Agricultural College completing an Advanced Diploma in Rural Business. He also holds a Diploma in Financial Counselling.
He works with a team of Financial Counsellors located throughout Southern Queensland.
