About Sandy Donovan

Sandy is a Rural Financial Counsellor based in Rockhampton. He supports Central Queensland primary producers in Rockhampton, Livingstone and surrounding areas.

Sandy brings over 30 years of experience in rural finance, supporting primary producers across Central Queensland. Growing up on a mixed farming property in the Goondiwindi region, Sandy began jackarooing in Central West Queensland and New England (NSW), before earning a Diploma in Farm Management from Marcus Oldham Farm Management College.

He has since worked as a Rural Manager with Rabobank and Suncorp, and as a Financial Adviser and Rural Consultant. Recently, Sandy operated his own financial planning business in Rockhampton, where he has lived since 1993.

With his deep understanding of rural banking and firsthand knowledge of the challenges facing the agricultural sector, Sandy is well-equipped to support primary producers in navigating financial decisions.

Sandy works alongside a team of Financial Counsellors located throughout Southern Queensland, jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments.
